currently i'm using potentiometer read position, i'd migrate using encoder. problem have interrupt routine needs run while encoder position tracked. if use interrupt routine here 1 fail, defeats purpose entirely. my question know of way, perhaps chip, can track rotary encoder , output signal pwm or analog signal arduino can read. encoder not need absolute , not need spin more 360 degrees (or 270 or whatever pot's do), output bounded number. does kind of thing exist? which microcontroller/board using? most of time interrupts not neccesary because proccessing speed faster event, can check continiously event in main loop , catch variations. i've of sudden been having problems ram in ubuntu. i'm using 2 gskill 2gb sticks. in post reads memory @ 4gb, when through system information in ubuntu, it's reading 2.5gb. there sort of configuration i'm missing? or patch of sort issue? i've contacted gigabyte (which motherboard) this, , said since it's coming in post 4gb, there's nothing can me. or insight appreciated. are running 32-bit ubuntu, or 64 bit ubuntu. 32-bit, that's normal. i'm having issue htpc. have nvidia 7300gs card hdmi output on it. when installed, can see post , bootup splash screen. happens next depends on driver: if i'm using stock non-restricted driver, video -- albeit lousy video. if use nvidia driver restricted drivers, after post , splash screen samsung hdtv goes blank, searches signal, , errors "no signal". connect same hdtv nvidia 7100 svideo out, , works perfectly, although not @ 1080p in full hdmi glory. if crazy things install 7100 connected svideo, install restricted driver, reboot, shut down, swap in 7300gs, , reboot, can *sometimes* working in full 1080p once or twice... after reboot, it's "no signal". i'm not linux newbie, i've never had muck around nvidia driver or xorg.conf in past. out there can give me guidance on start? in advance! ciao tutti, come da titolo vorrei discutere (e trovare possibilmente una soluzione) su quello che potrebbe essere il metodo migliore per ottimizzare il codice di scrittura su sd, requisiti dovrebbero essere questi: - salvaguardare la vita della scheda sd (a proposito quanti sono cicli di vita di ogni cella? e quante sono le celle?) - non appesantire troppo il codice - non rischiare di perdere troppi dati in caso di 'incauto' spegnimento - non rischiare di bruciare la sd se spengo arduino mentre scrive (succede?) la funzione di arduino è di datalogger, scrive una stringa da 60-70 caratteri (considerate una nmea più o meno) 1-2hz. l'ultimo giorno di lavoro (non è quotidiano) ha fatto 10'000 salvataggi 1hz di due stringhe suddette. ho intenzione di inserire un pulsante (con led di stato) che avvii e fermi il salvataggio. cosa mi consigliate e/o quali sono valori che devo considerare? quote (a proposito quanti sono cicli di vita di ogni cel...

while developing stepper motor sketch drilling circuit boards on 3-axis mill came across frequencytimer2 library. good day, in project 7, we're introduced concept of resistor ladder. each switch along ladder fed power through resistor, each of varying resistance. question regards orientation of these resistors: according instructions, gold band of each resistor (the tail) faces power in, while head directed toward switch. think since direction of current power in switch, tail end should face switch. why opposite? directions: (+) - | | | | - (switch) - (-) expectation: (+) - | | | | - (switch) - (-) it not matter. resistors bi-directional. buongiorno tutti...ho un piccolo quesito. forse (sicuramente) banale, ma vorrei evitare di rompere la scheda e quindi chiedo. per esigenze di spazio mi sono dotato di un arduino pro mini 5v 16mhz 328 , bene. ho la possibilità di dare energia questo arduino tramite un pacco batterie che mi fornisce direttamente 5v regolati tramite uno dc-dc step up, quindi la tensione in uscita della batteria è adattissima ad arduino. ho provato leggere le varie guide su questo modello ma non riesco capire (o meglio vorrei da voi una conferma) se il + della batteria vada connesso alla porta raw o vcc. di sicuro se avessi avuto una tensione superiore 5v (quindi da regolare) avrei dovuto connettere il positivo alla porta raw (che significando in inglese "grezzo" mi fa pensare appunto alla corrente non regolata) ma io ho 5v dove lo connetto? se connetto alla porta vcc, poi dalla stessa dovendo prelevare 5v in uscita per ad esempio (consultare schema in allegato) alimentare un potenziome...

first of all, have circuit attached image. text file can imported java applet. http://www.falstad.com/circuit/ the h-bridge performs expected logically. however, voltage drops across mosfets enormous. when i'm working 12v, ~5.5v drop across 2 transistors results in ~1v motor. intent @ least 9v motor. which means there's fundamental mosfets i'm forgetting. can me troubleshoot this? firstly you've used wrong symbols power mosfets, have an integrated body-diode part of symbol.  no need other diodes a result.  btw must distinquish source drain in power mosfet.  you need source power rail, drain motor in kind of bridge. top-side switches p-channel, low-side n-channel logic-level. the circuit wrong in various ways: 1) shoot-through - turn on mosfet on other turning off.  this bad. you must turn off 1 before other starts conducting otherwise large current pulses flow through both mosfets, potentially destroying them , wasti...
