Dreamweaver Administration

when wanting administer website within dreamweaver following error:

"you can't administer website because can't connect web server. please check connection."

as far i'm aware, network connection fine following message when starting contribute:

"connection failure. computer not appear connected network. want do? <option 1> work offline (recommended) <option 2> try connect anyway"

as mentioned, else appears work fine, network connection, internet access, etc. , selection option 2 allows me connect anyway. 2 messages related?
