piface: forwarding sensor data from input --> output - Raspberry Pi Forums

hello,

i've been measuring water-usage year line-sensor , worked perfectly.
since few days watercompany installed sensor on meter, , sends data i-care gateway (from http://www.energq.com)
since there no local webserver on gateway lost own signal domoticz.

want connect sensor piface , forward input output, can connect output i-care gateway. (so we're happy)

can tell me how configure in piface? (the python part...)

have idea how specific sensor works used on meter ? in threads here people reported reed contacts or hall sensors open collector outputs.

best measure voltage levels , design adapter circuit (the 'magical measurement adapter') 'measures' sensor signals , converts them voltage level/protocol home automation.

no need break path meter gateway device then. best case there should no influence adapter backward meter when adapter powered/unpowered , should provide isolation between circuits.

if magical adapter producing 3.3v-logic signal levels, can feed piface. or gpio directly.

edit: when there hall sensor used in sensor, why not place second hall sensor meter , take signal input automation system ?
