Thread: Evolution Error

hi,
have received new dell mini 10 ubuntu.
have tried set email account using evolution keep getting following error message :

"error while performing operation.
not connect 25: invalid argument."

have been windows person using incredimail (dont't know if has it!) using same settings have.

have suggestions?
tried use thunderbird says:

"there no new messages on server"

know there new messages though!

can't work out i'm doing wrong i've never had problems emails before!

it sounds isn't configured properly. i'm not sure hosts email server, can't give complete instructions.

if use generic free email service (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc) these services have instructions on how configure email client. make sure set exactly. know gmail, have enable ssl encryption authenticate when sending , receiving messages. other email hosts have different requirements depending on security consciousness, configurations, etc.
