i 1 step above newbie using mega's serial1 hardware communicate controller (pic18f) communicates via rs485 half-duplex.  using external max485 connected mega 3 wires, 2 serial1 rx , tx , third digital pin (i use mega 7) toggle max485 "enable" pins (2 , 3 tied together). when enable pin low(default) max485 "receiver output" pin 1 able send mega whatever receiving on rs485 bus line.  when want transmit mega max485, need set max485 "enable" pins high toggles max485 "driver input" (pin 4) accept input mega. my basic sketch sends constant 5 byte data packet mega max485 every 200msecs , works fine of time except out of blue stops working or never starts.  have checked 10x high impedance scope probe, , max485 enable pins low instead of high nothing gets onto rs485 bus a-b lines.  make sure mega digital pin driving max485 enable not floating have tied mega pin (7) vcc rail 10k resistor has not helped. simplify problem, ...

hi all, i'm trying connect arduino car ac display (please see picture below). ac display @ bottom. there 5 wires going display. blue/red - dimmer green - acc power yellow/red - knob temp (0-5v) control blue - data (i believe data wire.) black - ground here info display: (blue/red wire) - display dim when head light comes on. tested wire meter , voltage 0v when headlight off, ~12v when headlight on. want plug wire arduino board , i'm going use voltage regulator bring voltage 5v. (green wire) - acc wire. time voltage when car on. use power arduino. voltage ~12v. question: safe use ~12v power supply arduino? (yellow/red wire) - there knob control fan. tested wire , voltage range 0v - 5v. 0v means @ lowest setting, 5v means @ highest. het zal wel dom zijn (ik ben een absolute beginner), maar kan nergens vinden hoe ik mijn rpi2 weer aan het booten krijg na hem in desktopmode te hebben afgesloten (zonder de stroom eraf te halen: de rode led brandt nog). ik probeer alsnog de power off/on truc, maar dat zet alleen de rode led weer aan, geen groen flikkerend ledje, dus ook geen boot. ik heb de hele sd card opnieuw geformatteerd en noobs / raspbian startx etc.geïnstalleerd, en dat hielp niet: weer, na shutdown, alleen de rode led etc. ik word een beetje wanhopig, want ik vind nergens in de forums antwoord, behalve dat ik aan het solderen zou moeten om een schakelaar met de pi te verbinden (en dan ook nog scripts moet invoeren). er een makkelijke(r) weg? de rode led geeft aan dat er nog steeds stroom opstaat maar de pi zelf staat uit. het betekent dus dat hij niet in sluimermodus staat. om hem opnieuw op te starten moet je de stroom erin en eruit halen. een eventuele tweede mogelijkheid zou een schakelaar zijn. er zij...

my onboard soundcard stopped working, , 2 discrete soundcards have incompatible. however, have rpi 2 laying around, can use soundcard want stream sound windows (not music streaming) rpi connected directly 2nd ethernet card ideal case if software on windows create virtual audio device act real soundcard. less latency better ideas? im searching such software hours , nothing. salve tutti. ho comprato un dominio su server linux da natan.it (in qualche post lo consigliava un mod). tutto è andato bene, installazione di joomla, upload dei files, register_global off, sto trovando un unico problema: aggiornare il database. in pratica natan.it mi crea il database con il nome del dominio, se per esempio il sito è : http://www.miodominio.it il nome del db sarà: miodomio123 però io in locale ho il database che si chiama joomla, quindi quando vado su phpmyadmin di natan.it per aggiornare il database e vado ad importare il file .sql, mi da l'errore "non si può creare il database joomla per insufficenza privilegi" e allora come si fa ad importare tutte le tabelle che ho in locale sul database in remoto con nome differente? grazie aspetta che provo vederci chiaro.... hai il sito in locale? se si, non devi installare joomla, ma ti basta trasferire tutti file sul server. poi in phpmyadmin di natan apri il db da utilizzare, scegli importa e ci carichi il d...
