Is avahi / mDNS normally stable? - Raspberry Pi Forums

first post! excited!

i've been playing around pi 2 , picam , it's wonderful. have 1 little annoyance though. quite handy access pi custom address instead of bare ip.

i've installed avahi , libnss-mdns, , when restart avahi-daemon, can ssh pi .local address. however, when logout , try log in, can no longer access pi .local address. if try ping it, "cannot resolve [hostname]: unknown host

know you'll need more information troubleshoot causing this? installation? wifi? own computer (mac)? or wifi adaptor?
