Electret vs. Condenser microphones

i thinking making small project light led if noise recorded microphone loud enough. did google search , didn't find microphone should use, wanted know 1 might want use project , pros , cons are.

i cant tell arduino standpoint im total newb. can telly sound engineer standpoint condenser require 48volts (phantom power) , pretty preamp, sound alot better harder , require more space not small of mic.

electret pretty low power , doesnt sound bad is. , alot cheaper. go electret if youre not planning on doing important recordings it.
