Thread: ubuntu8.0.4can not recognize my "Dell wireless 1395 WLan Mini-Card",


it's not listed in "hardware drivers"

should do, please help

run command terminal window:
lspci
line resembles this:
0c:00.0 network controller: intel corporation wireless wifi link 5100

if results state have broadcom chipset follow below steps. if states different please post results of network controller information.

trying opening synaptic package manager , search fwcutter. should b43-fwcutter. (this extract broadcom 43xx firmware) mark install , apply.

if not there try terminal window:
(make sure using wired internet connection)

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter

go under system > administration > hardware drivers , make sure driver activated. if activated in top right hand corner icon wireless internet connection. click on connection use it.
make sure unplug wired connection.
