.HTACCESS for 404 Errors? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i wanted figure out how forward 404 errors homepage, because relaunch website using joomla (old site postnuke) , alot of webpages no longer exist... google links point pages missing....... found answer, needs info, here do:

put line of code in .htaccess file in root folder

errordocument 404 http://www.yourwebsite.com/

so, now, if goes page on domain doesn't exist, forwarded homepage (or whatev page put in there.)
