Would be glad for some advice on languages and tools - Raspberry Pi Forums

hello,

i'm expierienced programer , want start develop raspberry pi, , realised have no idea start, have pretty specific purpose in mind , not enough knowledge determine proper tools job.

purpose of program want write interfacing cameras on usb and/or wireless on 1 side, , communicating internet via mqtt on other.

have pi installation raspbian, , 1 windows 10 core iot. development experience far on windows, second seemed logical choice, realised driver support isn't anywhere near level practical use platform project (there's one wifi dongle supported, , don't want know how long until thing can recognise camera).
turned raspbian, wins in driver department. puts me in foreign territory.
have never programed linux distribution, left alone 1 need interface remote (doing whole development on pi might become tedious).
i'm looking right tools job. can develop in c++ (pretty good), c# (decent, , bit experience .net framework) , java (decent, no knowledge of common libraries whatsoever, less linux libraries). have worked various iterations of visualstudio since 2005, , bit eclipse (and android studio, guess that's out of question).

able develop on real computer , deploy , remote-debug application on pi. have windows install, wouldn't big deal run linux system development if simpler.

given above mentioned purpose , experience, language , tools recomend use?
