Simple full screen web page application - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi, develop application includes rpi model b, monitor connected via hdmi, wifi dongle , 4 infrared sensors simulate pressure of 4 keys on keyboard.
application consists of single web page javascript, css3, etc., should opened automatically when rpi powered on, in full screen, no controls or frames.
found online solution chromium in "kiosk" mode, have bigger problem:
installed raspbian wheezy on rpi model b, using 8gb sdhc (sandisk extreme pro class 10 95 mb/s).
if open simple web page (even simple google search), on chromium or epiphany, cpu jumps 100% , loading slow.
know if normal? there way lighten system, perhaps alternative operating system, requirement display fullscreen webpage?
