How to power an arduino UNO, 12 servos and a receiver

hi everybody,
i'm building small quadruped 12 small servos (hxt900) , i'm wondering how power them. first serious project arduino , must i'm complete noob when comes electronics. i've read somewhere hxt900s draw 500ma each (of course depends on load i'm trying approximated calculation), guess 6a together, @ 3-6v. there arduino uno , hobby king 2.4ghz receiver, should draw less current.

what want powering of them single pack of batteries, don't know whether possible (and how) or not. have thought buy 6v nimh battery don't know how calculate maximum current can provide. can me?

thanks in advance , sorry bad english. feel free tell me if not clear or incorrect.

the servos draw spikes amp or suspect, 0.5a optimistic figure.

however if don't move them @ once average current draw lot
less typically.  mechanically overloading servo pull high currents, note.

a 4 or 5 cell nimh pack ought it, avoid cheap unbranded batteries (always!).

power servos separately else, that's voltage rail to
droop , have lots of noise.
