Hardware addon for WAV to MP3 encoding - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi everyone. i'm working on project recording streaming audio. i've got audio stream -> wav working fine running trouble wav -> mp3 encoding. wav files end being 2 hours long, , i'd able encode them in reasonable amount of time (like few minutes).

know native encoding not great in terms of speed i'm looking @ possible add ons. obvious option wolfson card. questions here are:

1. know if wolfson card wav -> mp3 encoding?
2. if yes, overkill? cheaper usb card well?
