fireworks - rollover - where to start

hi - have been given site navigation using graphics/javascript already. need make rollovers (text bold on hover). wanted use css owner insists on using highly unusual font. currently, in fireworks, text needs have rollover included inside of slices hotlinks (area maps) , include images text. remove current slices , start making new ones, isolating text new slices? i'm bit rusty on doing way.

also, how make .html page being displayed shows text in down (bold) state?

the text want make rollovers of needs in own slice.
don't need use button editor. right click on slice ,
choose add simple rollover behavior.
