Thread: Problem customizing vitual desktop size

hi forum users.

here problem have.

i've got hannspree netbook, 10" screen, intel 945 grafics card (driver intel xorg).

problem in auto-scaning screen modes, sets "standar" not virtual modes, when try set screen virtual sizes gnome aplication, can't. used xrand utility efects can see in attached image. desktop resizes, gnome dont seem notice, , panel remains in non-virtual position, windows dont maximized covering aviable space. i've tried add subsection "device" in xorg.conf, no efect. way found make "virtual size" put xrand comand in startup applications, undesired effect commented (not practical @ all).

ideas of how tell gnome use virtual sizes in configuration tool resolution?
