hi all,
complete newbie , first project isn't simple it's need must crack on it!

looking make fermentation chamber 2x1 gallon demijohns.

temp needs between 15 , 21 degrees c.

want pi measure readings thermometer placed in 1 of demijohns , either switch on heatpad @ base or switch on bank of computer fans @ rear dependant on temperature is.

want pi display temperature on lcd display , illuminate led indicate if heatpad on or fans on (one led fans , 1 heatpad).

absolute simplest require @ moment. more competent o want add 7" display touchscreen dashboard tweaking. want pi execute shutdown procedure when power switched off prevent files corrupting etc.


start????

many guys

  1. start finding waterproofed d18b20 temperature sensor.
  2. then figure out how read temperature (relatively simple)
  3. find relay can drive heat plate (look @ voltage , current required heat plate)
  4. write simple bit of code turn relay on , off
  5. combine code can read temperature
  6. make simple control algorithm turn on heater if temperature drops below set value
