Thread: Can't boot into Windows XP

at least not grub. "error 12: invalid device requested"...

tried pressing "e" in grub edit that, on fly, , "b" boot changes. tried , got:

the thing is, if change bios boot cd, , put cd has windows files, windows boots fine. while i'm inside windows, see windows' drive "d:\".

ubuntu boots fine.

so, basicly: when start pc, grub shows up, chose ubuntu, , goes normal. if wanna go windows xp, need put cd. cd, windows works fine.
want: able boot windows grub normally. mean, when start pc , grub shows up, when chose "windows", windows boots fine, instead of getting error 12.

help? don't know else do, tried lots of things. =/

oh, in case matters, i'm using ubuntu 9.04. downloaded , installed 1 month ago.

think partition setup is:
1st: partition no system files, use music , videos
2nd: partition subdivided in logic partitions:
2nd-1st: windows xp
2nd-2nd: ubuntu swap
2nd-3rd: ubuntu

when did problem start? when installed ubuntu? or later when installed?
