12 volt to a RF 433 transmitter

i searched web common ground thing, i'm not sure if i'm doing right way. i'm trying more range out of transmitter.

is right way this?

that looks ok me, sure transmitter can tolerate 12v. can't.
some breadboard side rails  have break in middle, in case need jumper.
