State change with toggle switch and LED?

hi,
i'm building project need led light half second when toggle switch on 'on' position switch off until until toggle switch put on off position, when led light half second switch off etc...
i pretty new o arduino please make answers easy. attached diagram post if didn't understant.

the state change detection example show how detect switch has become pressed. when switch becomes pressed, note time , turn led on.

then, periodically, see if led on , has been on long enough. if so, turn off.

the blink without delay examples give ideas.
