Using intel Galileo for auto alarm clock

i have project in mind , pointers.  here project requirements alarm clock want build


0. displays time in large digits.
1.   set time  automatically through wifi connection pinging internet server every x hours , on startup
2.  allows user set 2 alarms
3.  has 2 additional displays count down timer each alarm going off these can driven regular large 7 segment displays
4.  alarm should set using numerical keypad entry in 24 hour format toggle switch point alarm setting
5.  user should either wake alarm, built in fm radio or pre recorded messages (i have text speech sound module want try out)

i know overkill alarm clock have intel galileo blue tooth wifi card in sd mini card. thinking large led display given can read standard alarm clock when touch without glasses on use series of either 5mm leds or led display grid. 

i playing round proof of concept intel galileo board.   ant suggestions wether galileo can handle these requirements great. looking pointers on best alarm clock , countdown displays in addition fm receiver. thinking having whole thing if need being made modular units can communicate via master galileo board.  suggestions appreciated

you right that, might consider staying on forum, using arduino alarm clock little while, , using galileo more creative.
