Thread: IDE to Compact Flash Adpater for UDMA 5

hi,

i've brought transcend 600x 8gb compact flash card i'm intending use os disk mythbuntu system aid of ide cf adapter.

card supposedly transfers data @ 90mb/s first attempt use produced random speeds ending system becoming unusable.

i've figured due cheap ide cf adapter not supporting dma.

want buy new 1 work , @ full speed (in case udma 5)...

i've found page talks problems:

according need have right pins connected, resistors , grounding lines!

i've discovered card operate @ speeds greater udma 4 must run @ 3.3v (this buried in product's datasheet).

nearest adapter i've found 1 (it @ least has switchable voltage - not sure crosstalk issue):

question (well done if you're still reading) before spend more money has else got card working @ speed , adapter?

thanks,

cabbage.

just found this:

can have 1 device on bus , max cable length of 6 inches..!
