I/O long distance
hi, want connect i/o devices directly long distance.
for example, have few buttons connected directly input pins in arduino rj45 , works ok. tried few dozens of meters , worked ok.
now want know if there better way communicate in long distance. notice dont want interface kind of protocol communication(uart, i2c etc..). want interface devices directly i/o of arduino. if want uart long distance use rs485. in case have rj45 , 6 of 8 pins have connect directly long distance divices.
thanks

what "long" ? 1 meter ? 100 meters ? lightyears ?
which devices ? example temperature sensor ds18b20 allows pretty long wires.
