GPIO and control panel - Raspberry Pi Forums

i have ancient portable dvd player dead. parts still work screen (which i've confirmed compatible dsi output on pi) , control panel, has 3 pins (i assume current, ground, , signal pins). wanting use control panel controller media player via lirc and, basically, replace rest of portable dvd player media player. problem messing gpio far lower level type of programming i'm familiar with. have example code sort of thing at?

i'd estimate chance of using screen attached pi's dsi port @ less zero.
