Attaching a plastic disc to a stepper motor shaft & type of plastic to use

    hello all,

first, i'd thank guys wonderful support you've given far. sincerely appreciate helping out free time, , advice has been valuable me when working on different projects.

this question might little stupid, don't know how go attaching flat disc shaft of stepper motor, shown below. want attach 12" plastic disc shaft of motor somehow, don't know proper way go it. also, i'm not sure sort of plastic choose.

in terms of attaching plastic, thought drill hole in center of disc smaller 5mm shaft size fit tightly on shaft (shown in images). don't know go here, though. disc tilt on shaft when weight put on it, or may slide down. there way secure in? (shaft collars maybe?)

also, don't know sort of plastic use. needs able be:

    • bonded mdf

    • sawed , drilled without breaking

    • sturdy , inflexible @ thicknesses between 1/8 , 1/4 inches

i've picked out lots of different plastics have sheet made of: hdpe, pvc, pp, acetal, , cast acrylic. price in consideration, hdpe far cost-effective plastic sheet buy, don't think bonds well. type of plastic recommend application (and buy price?)

    thanks time,

    blue ice

you question isn't stupid when asking question pertains stepper motor , unless strictly software question, standard operating procedure on forum post motor datasheet or link site has specs & dimensions motor. necessary before question can tell without datasheet need mounting bit disk consisting of 2 small disks (probably 1" diam) compressed kind of hardware fitting.
we'll need see motor specs go there. in meantime might want have @ video:
