Thread: installing ubuntu on existing win 7 laptop

hi,

have laptop running win7 @ moment, want install ubuntu bit of rails programming. best strategy minimal work? install via wubi or allocate space install ubuntu on partition? if latter, how go doing this?

wubi best method.
can install along side. when boot livecd , choose install, there should option shrink windows 7 partition. should work fine, remember resizing partitions inherently risky, make sure backup important data first.
