Thread: Cairo-Dock 2.1.0 is released !

while 2.0 introducing opengl, version 2.1 getting more robust.
here result of 4 months of hard labour :

"annoying bugs" taskbar, powermanager, clipper , keyboard indicator have been squashed.
dock @ same became more stable , faster when opengl activated (the applet clock or cairo-penguin virtually using no cpu resources).
news should please many opengl works latest opensource drivers ati , intel video card !

dock evolving ! lots of comments made after launch of 2.0 noted , acted on.
configuration panel has been polished (the presentation improved , options better grouped, etc)
pictures ratio correct (windows thumbnail , switcher, etc)
easier create new main dock or move icons 1 dock another.
new mode "extended dock" has appeared (the dock fill side of screen).

themes have been reviewed , have user friendly interface : can sort theme name, rating or simplicity. can rate them once have downloaded them !

applets have gained in process :

shortcuts , notes have improved desklet mode, allow display on desktop icons drawn nautilus "post-it".
digital clock has better rendering.
applets 'rhythmbox' , 'xmms' merged form new applet musicplayer, allows control player.
'cpusage', 'ram-meter' , 'nvidia' merge system-monitor applet, offers basic system information (cpu, ram, nvidia card temperature, etc)

on new side introducing dnd2share, file sharing applet. allow send files on server of choice dragging , dropping them on applet ! not able live without it.

notice open effect of slide view looking bit more mac osx equivalent.

on project side itself, migrated launchpad !
means that:
- there 'weekly-build' ubuntu users.
- manual 'daily-compiled' mav' script (for more info see here)
- easier tools translators (it's here)
- possibility contribute project bazaar.

thank enjoy cairo-dock. use @ bottom proggys , shortcuts , use main taskbar monitors , menus. it's tried , couldnt in windows 10+ years. did in cairo in couple hours. again !
