Thread: No Window Decorations with Visual Effects in Ubuntu 9.04

i reinstalled ubuntu 9.04 on old computer had been running it. had visual effects set normal , kinds of ridiculous compiz things cube.

had enable proprietary nvidia drivers turn on visual effects, now, if have visual effects set other "none" of window decorations disappear. have scoured web , seen quite few posts regarding on older ubuntu versions, , none of suggested fixes had positive effect me (emerald --replace, compiz --replace, editing xorg.xonf, etc).

finding quite frustrating, had these things working on exact same computer, exact same version of ubuntu. ideas appreciated.

gfx card geforce3 ti 200 (yes, ancient)

i'll ask obvious, simple question- did manage accidentally uncheck window decorations check box in ccsm? there's plugin somwhere in there lets toggle window decorations too... i'm not looking right @ it, can't look.
