Thread: /etc/interfaces file only has loopback

i think i'm in on head. trying wireless work on dell broadcom card. ran command lshw -c network, show wireless card disabled. ran command ifup eth0, eth1 , wlan0...unknow interface error. took @ /etc/networks/interface file , has loopback. need edit interface , if should like? if not what's not set correctly. me appears card driver loading.

thanks

bob

don't edit /etc/network/interfaces unless you're planning manage network connection entirely command line.
network managers won't manage network if edit interfaces, , it's ok have loopback.

when did lshw, did card come unclaimed? can see card (or available networks) on network manager?
