The IDE doesn't show any text [SOLVED (kind of)]

hello. got first arduino   8) , downloaded ide site... doesn't show text, @ all. when put mouse overthe icons in green-ishbar. , in text editor. menus , compiler output show nothing, @ all! i'm using manjaro linux 64-bit if has do... guess :p
i tried building source, result same. i'm thinking maybe has fonts? if that's case, what's best possible solution? , if not... can do? have source wouldn't mind making change somewhere... i'm no java programmer don't expect me know that.....
anyway, in advance :)

so peter_n found workaround. did run te windows version wine.
however windows version won't allow me upload serial port, had map (in mind)  menu see on windows version invisible menu on linux version
no big deal

check, in preferences (in file menu), "use external editor" not checked.
