Spotify Offline Playback...has this ever been achieved? - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi all

want begin 'carputer' project using osmc cannot justify beginning project until sure can achieve offline spotify playback storage..

cant find evidence anywhere of being achieved on operating platformusing rpi...

seems guy asked same question in july 2014. viewtopic.php?f=41&t=82009

can shed light?

most systems can stream spotify based on spotifys own library available here: https://developer.spotify.com/technologies/libspotify/

, dont think library has ever supported local cache, big security issue , make easy dump music wants , never need spotify again.

there (was?) open source implementation called despotify, developers said never implement downloading either.
