Dead link in menus - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

problem: of members noticed problem time ago. links in menus dead. when clicked lead 404 error page. decided delete link menu manager , create new ones. problem won't work, create link category , shows 404. don't understand what's wrong it.
version: joomla! 1.0.10 stable
