Battery Powered RC car with RPi2 - Raspberry Pi Forums
i making remote control car , have battery pack can hold 6 aa batteries. these batteries rechargeable , supply 1.2v. 6 of batteries give me 7.2v. therefore need use 5v voltage regulator power raspberry pi 2 (motors run off of 7.2v in parallel raspberry pi 2's 5v supply). not know how should connect battery pack pi have found several options. simplest option me seems connecting regulated 5v wire 1 of 5v pins , ground wire gnd pin. however, concerned current going in pi because there no fuse protect it. how current going in? keeping in mind raspberry pi 2 take 2000ma wall supply, current in tolerable range power pi (considering of current going motors well)? should consider option power pi? there safety precautions should take?
again main questions are:
1. how current going raspberry pi 2?
2. current supplied adequate project?
3. should power pi using option other gpio pins (microusb port, usb port)?
4. there safety precautions should take?
in advanced. please ask details problem if necessary , feel free leave suggestions.

save lot of headaches , corrupted sd cards unexpected reboots.
use "phone charger" usb battery pack power pi, use 6xaa motors, otherwise asking trouble.
