Need help installing multiple Joomlas on XAMMP localhost - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i installed uniform server , installed joomla install as: "http://localhost/joomla100/"

i created directory "joomla101" , went through browser joomla installer.

i put following:
host name: localhost  (same 1st install)
mysql user name: root (same 1st install)
mysql password: {left blank}
mysql database name: joomla101
mysql table prefix: jos_

install sample data - checked radio button

when hit next error:
"the password , username provided incorrect.

how come first install worked above, install says won't work?

i did create new database in phpmyadmin named "joomla101", gives?

if remember correctly, joomla! not install without password mysql user. try adding password database user.
