Dynamic message trouble

i'm new actionscript , i'm trying build simple adventure game engine. i'm trying use dynamic text box display different messages when player investigates using spacebar. instance, i'd make if if character touching door , presses space bar, message pops in dyn text saying door locked. need messge disappear screen whenever character moves direction, reappear if character touching door , presses spacebar again. know how go doing this? of code have @ moment on door. appreciated!

if checking once when user presses teh space bar listener job you.
