Using the GPIO header - Raspberry Pi Forums
hello all,
i'm super newbie when comes rpi, dont own on yet have 2 projects want use couple of pis (a network music player replace aging sqeeuzebox , internet radio).
naturally geek research hell out of of before start spending money. i'm happy can crack on both projects have question regarding use of gpio , i2c pins.
product https://www.adafruit.com/products/1115 says uses 2 i2c pins on header yet when delved assembly instructions there stage have solder in pin block plugs of pi's header pins?

no case whilst pins on lcd board being plugged pi i2c ones being used , others still able used?

you correct. guess goes on expansion header give structural support. makes difficult access gpios.
