Thread: Speed up 'Starting Samba Daemons' on boot?

i have 1 40gb boot drive, , 1 160gb secondary drive. have 1 shared directory, 5 files shared.

takes around 35 seconds or past 'starting samba daemons' during boot.

there way speed up? not huge deal, seemed out of ordinary, , i'd fix if possible.

thanks!

change startup modifying rc2.d scripts. make start samba after gdm has started. way, there no wait during boot -- during first log in.
