Softened edge?

archives, didn't find instructions understand!

i'm using fireworks mx 2004, , client wants "softened edge" around
graphic. can point me tutorial or give me steps
that??

hi patty:

if want edge of photo softened, draw vector shape
and feather edge. fill shape white, select both
objects , go modify > mask > group mask.
