fading 240v lights in vivarium (Safe method)

so have terrarium setup snake.

the electrical setup snake includes day glo , night glo bulbs. simulate more realistic environment wanted able fade these bulbs @ set times. idea being following:

745am sunglo bulb begins fade on
745am nightglo bulb begins fade off
8am sunglow bulb reaches full on
8am nightglo bulb reaches full off

745pm sunglo bulb begins fade off
745pm nightglo bulb begins fade on
8pm sunglo bulb off
8pm nightglo bulb on

now understand rather sevear dangers 240v mains power , 5/9/12v home made circuits, , i've noticed few threads here controlling mains lights fading had solution may not clean solutions things vivariums, terrariums ect ideal solution need awesome community.

basically, programming arduino or ic control 2 servos. these servos hooked dimmer switches you'd put on wall link bar, servo turns, rotates dimmer dial.

the programming servo , effective clock. i'd rather run servos off arduino (uno) rather program ic or something. way can have contained in 3 single boxes cleaner look.

where starting point project? i've looked on tutorial material servo control makes no sense me :(

where starting point project?

get servos.
