brand new PI 2 and SD issues - Raspberry Pi Forums
i have older pi 1 model b still running strong. when learned new pi 2 it's quad core processor , 1 gb of memory, jumped on , ordered one. got case , 16 gb microsd. last night, followed instructions latest noobs software installed card. pi 2 booted , chose install raspbian launcher. got of way through installation , gave error saying not mount root partition. thought fluke reformatted microsd card, copied noobs stuff on , tried again. same result.
so, downloaded raspbian image, reformatted card, , used dd command (from mac) put image on card. pi 2 booted raspbian image , let me install it. however, noticed system became unstable after first reboot. threw errors on screen i/o errors , problems reading card. never booted. again reformatted card, put raspbian image on , reinstalled again. time, made through 2 reboots before no longer read card. repeated reformat, reimage, reinstall process 4 more times , got same result. brand new transcend microsd card!! what's deal? googled last night , seems lots of other people have same problem, didn't see fix anywhere. pi 2 problem or card problem? if card problem, why widespread? have pi 2 can't use because can't read card after reboot.
