C2: Issue with PNG-8 files

hi all,
i trying out captivate 2 , met issue trying insert png-8 files. not insert document. show in library preview not work. png-24 files work fine. bit of pain there can serious difference in file sizes between 2 formats.

this not happen in captivate 1.

is bug or feature?

i don't recall using png-8 files in captivate 1, , hadn't occasion try in captivate 2.

however, created png-8 128 dither file using adobe photoshop cs , tried place in captivate 2. results identical yours. image seems @ first come in okay, not appear in slide. double-clicking on image in library opens image properties window you'd expect see preview -- none displayed. image "use count" 0, , cannot dragged onto slide.

this indeed appear bug. i'd recommend submitting bug report.

fyi --
when transparency not needed, produce of images bmps. clean, uncompressed images. when captivate publishes project, can better job of compressing them (for smaller files) case jpg images. of course, bmp won't have available, it's place start if can them.
