Thread: suddenly lost internet access

i'm using ubuntu hardy 8.04 , lost internet access while downloading file.

have 2 computers (one vista, other ubuntu) , printer individually connected router in turn connected dsl modem.

ubuntu can ping vista computer , printer. have access (with ubuntu) shared folder in vista.

cannot ping router.
cannot access internet ubuntu

can do?

i tried running live cd (linux mint 7) , cannot access internet either (it did previously)
have jaunty in secondary disc drive , cannot access internet
