Thread: xen and multiple guests with sound

i've installed xen kernel. dom0 sound works (installed alsa-base) in virtual machines not work. have working in hvm , paravirtual machines. seems locks card when playing.

@ http://alien.slackbook.org/dokuwiki/...slackware:qemu see qemu responsible. , maybe "--enable-alsa' when compiling should make work?
if run "/usr/lib/xen-3.2-1/bin/qemu-dm --audio-help" indeed don't see alsa.

questions are:
1: if compile "--enable-alsa' can run hvm paravirtual machines sound?
2: if so, why not default? (i know xen used servers, anyway). distro enables default?
3: possible enable alsa @ easy way?
4: can use oss @ dom0 level mix sounds alsa domu's?

ps: know it's possible pass through soundcard, or use pulseaudio, rather "right" way.
