Thread: compiz not responding on 1/2 computers

hello community,

have installed compiz on laptop computer , works fine: gott rotating cube effect clicking on boxes in configuration menu.
laptop's video card :
00:02.0 vga compatible controller: intel corporation mobile 915gm/gms/910gml express graphics controller (rev 03)

now, when install compiz on desktop computer (a more recent machine) click right boxes on configuration menu nothing happens. it's though compiz had not been installed @ exception configuration menu there. video card on desktop is:
00:0d.0 vga compatible controller: nvidia corporation geforce 6150se nforce 430 (rev a2)

both computers have undergone same ubuntu / windows xp dual boot installation process. video card of desktop requires driver not supported ubuntu or that?.

have compiz work on desktop?

did install nvidia driver?

how system > preferences > enable desktop effects
